8 ROCKS - LAWRENCE DALLAGLIO FOUNDATION BALL
8 Rocks is a high profile charity event organised by the Lawrence Dallaglio Foundation. The stylish, glamorous event has been held at Battersea Evolution since 2009 and welcomes around 500 guests, each with a difference style: Supper Club in 2016, and Great Gatsby in 2015.
Guests enjoy high quality catering by Smart Hospitality, with menus tailored to the event and theme. The 2016 menu was as below:
Basil, feta and brioche pudding with tomato jam (v)
Spicy crab doughnuts, doughnuts filled with a crab, mango and coriander mousse
Sweet corn croquette served with red cabbage slaw (v)
Open quail pies with Manchego cheese and chorizo crust
Pan fried seabass with bouillabaisse sauce and a lemon risotto
Twice baked cheese soufflé with a wild mushroom salad and truffle vinaigrette (v)
Slow cooked feather blade of beef, braised sweet potato fondant, cauliflower cream, salsify and pistachio crumb
Spiced sweet potato and carrot cake with saffron braised baby leeks, puy lentils and sweet tamarind sauce (v)
Maple cheesecake with salted pecan shortbread, cinnamon crumb and poached apple
Coffee, Tea and petit fours at the table
Each year, the event sees big names in the entertainment industry take to the stage: Kaiser Chiefs in 2016, Keane in 2015, Duran Duran in 2014 and James Blunt in 2013.
8 Rocks raises money for Rugbyworks, which is a long-term intensive skills development programme delivered by Dallaglio Foundation. The programme is based on the values of rugby and is aimed at 14-17 year olds outside of mainstream education, ensuring they achieve sustained education, employement or training.
