We are pleased to introduce a brand new bar to The Village at Ascot. The Titfer Bar is a spectacular outdoor bar featuring hundreds of ‘flying hats’ in true Harry Potter-esque glory. Guests are welcome to retire their hats each day at the festival to add to this sensational milliner’s masterpiece.
A nod to the famous cockney rhyming slang phrase ‘tit for tat’ meaning ‘hat’, the bar will be a permanent fixture at Royal Ascot and the collection of hats will grow year on year. As the sun goes down, guests are invited to retire their hat to take a place in history rather than placing their hats in storage to collect dust, never to be worn again.
Smart Group deliver over 600 events each year from international sporting and cultural events, including Royal Ascot Village and Lord’s to corporate and charitable functions for the NSPCC, Google and Adobe.
Greg Lawson, CEO of Smart Group commented: “The idea came from discovering my own collection of hats that I have accumulated over the years. We wanted to create something dazzling and conversation starting, something that could become a talking point for race goers year on year.”
