THE ROLE

This is a vital role at Moving Venue, overseeing the planning of catering at our exclusive sites specialising in Magazine London. Magazine London is a purpose-built, 24,179 sq m destination is the largest of its kind in London, offering a striking blank canvas for culture and commerce; it is a unique opportunity for brands and businesses to interact with global and local audiences. The venue is defined by simple architectural form, offering clean and functional spaces that provide a means for large-scale creative expression.

Magazine boasts a capacity of up to 3,000 people and can extend to accommodate a further 7,000 people across the venue’s outdoor showground. Located in the heart of Greenwich Peninsula, with breath-taking views of Canary Wharf, the venue is easily accessible by the Underground (within a three minute walk), road and river. Your role will entail working alongside both the venue and catering teams, planning all catering aspects of an event.

You will be instantly likeable and your role as Venue Event Planner requires you to have an outgoing personality, enduring enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. You will be an excellent team player, able to communicate at all levels and commit to sharing your knowledge and skills.

You should have a passion for organisation, provide outstanding service to clients and be able to cope with pressure and act professionally at all time.

This role will be split between Moving Venue’s base in Deptford and Magazine, this will depend on the needs of the business. You will also have the opportunity to support other areas of the business including other exclusive venues and bespoke events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Venue Planners role is to plan exceptional events. You are responsible for ] ensuring that relationships with clients and the venue are developed and maintained, ] resulting in high quality, profitable events and the achievement of targets.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  •  Establishing clients’ needs (end user, agent or venue) and presenting effective event solutions
  • Conducting tastings and site visits with clients
  • Employing the appropriate resources to elevate our company above competitors (site visits, menu tastings, event out-mess etc.)
  • Identify areas where Moving Venue can create new product ideas and creativity
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Moving Venue’s product and communicating this to clients and the venue
  • Knowledge in planning the catering of large scale events in comparable venues across London

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Representing Moving Venue in the most positive way both internally and externally
  • Maintaining an up to date knowledge of our venues, clients, competitors, markets and the industry, and an
    awareness of the impact of any developments in these areas
  • Complying with the requirements of MV’s Health & Safety/Food Safety policy and procedures and observing safe
    working practices both at base and at events
  • Performing any other reasonable duties required in pursuit of the efficient and profitable management of the
    company

Intermediate MS Office skills.

Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading and speaking.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Ability to complete event projects with little supervision.

Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.

Experience designing events and coming up with creative ideas.

You are able to commit to a flexible work pattern occasionally undertaking weekend work.
