Smart Group Partners with City Harvest to Fight Food Waste and Hunger
At Smart Group, we’re passionate about using our platform to create positive change. That’s why we’re excited to announce our partnership with City Harvest London, an incredible food charity that rescues surplus nutritious food and delivers it free of charge to those who need it most.
Smart Group X City Harvest
Building on the momentum of our International Women’s Day donations, we’re excited to be making a difference in even more meaningful ways. We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with City Harvest London, a remarkable food charity that rescues surplus nutritious food and delivers it for free to over 130,000 people each week. And, what better time to share the news than during Food Waste Action Week!
With upcoming volunteer days on the horizon, teams of Smarties are ready to roll up their sleeves and get hands-on in the warehouse, directly supporting City Harvest’s incredible work. We’re excited to continue our collaboration with City Harvest and contribute to their phenomenal impact across London. As a business, we are deeply committed to making a positive impact on communities both locally and globally through various initiatives. We are also celebrating our third year of partnership with B1G1, where we have achieved Gold Impact Partner status! Together, we’ve made over 150,000 life-changing impacts—including providing 54,112 days of access to life-enhancing tools, 46,080 days of feminine hygiene support for girls, and planting 29,229 trees—just to name a few. And we’re just getting started! By the end of this year, we aim to surpass 200,000 impacts.
These efforts are made possible through our Green Levy, an optional 50p charge per person designed to help make our events more sustainable. Thanks to the generosity of 336 businesses who’ve opted into this scheme, we’ve raised over £60,000 so far. We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to making these positive impacts possible. Together, we can reduce food waste, support our communities, and help create a better future for all.
